The Village is a neighborhood in the western section of Historic Downtown Jersey City. Originally known as the “Italian Village” once considered the Little Italy of JC, this area is home to exciting new restaurants, shops, and experiences, yet also remains loyal to its old-school roots and downhome establishments.
It is bordered by Hamilton Park and Harsimus Cove to the east and the Turnpike Extension to the west, just west of the Grove St Path station. The Village even has its own Neighborhood Association dedicated to serving the Village area of Downtown Jersey City. The neighborhood stays close to its history with a strong community feel, Italian bakeries and delis, local parks and a variety of retail and cuisines to explore.
